Thanks in part to Gary of BAMW in Derby,I have just about completed the 1st phase of the restoration of my R80 G/S
I have been in regular contact with a nearby supplier, invaluable
Since this being the first time I have taken on a 'rescue' boxer I have been in regular contact with Gary who has been a constant source of both parts & advice .
His stock of GS's in different guises was quite an inspiration to a budding restorer!
Take a look at his new website.

Yes, Gary is top guy - he helped beyond the
Call of duty with my 100GS PD.
His range of parts and seats etc is ever improving too.
Always worth checking out his website.

I just checked out his Bike prices

Mmmm ..........At those prices - Looks like my '93 R80GS is doing much better than any of my other investments :D

Granted his bikes are not cheap, but having
seen lots of them at his place, they are immaculately
restored. Stainless spokes are not cheap, and total
wheel rebuilds can add a large amount to the cost -he only
deals with low mileage bikes, even before restoring.
But, as ever, you can always buy a high mileage
bike( if you can find one!), and spend a load of time
& money getting it back to original condition;
Gary's bikes are invariably way better than
original!! And you get his back up and guarantee etc.
Not cheap I agree, but quality never is.
But, I bought my PD from Gary, un-restored, as seeen, for a fair price,
and he still helped me with gearbox problems etc.
Very helpful guy- and I still keep in touch for advice or a general
bike chat.......

Agree with the above, bought a 80 g/s Dakar, immaculate, lovely bike. Had to sell it a few months later, got back what I paid for it. This would suggest that his bikes are realistically priced in a tight market. I would buy one from him again..in a heartbeat. A thoroughly decent chap.
