Just test ridden one with all the bells and whistles in the pouring rain and it was fabulous.
I had it set up for Rain and with Soft setting for the suspension and rode it on the main road at a 'good' speed (if you know what I mean) with the screen set at its highest. The screen works well. I lowered it down to test the effect and could feel the wind starting to howl on my helmet as I lowered it. Excellent.
Comfort was fine with the seat set to suit me before I left.
The gear change was as good as the many Jap/Italian bikes I've had over the years. No shaft drive clunkiness in the change.
Engine power is all you'll need on the road for overtaking purposes, in fact even in the upper gears it storms off into the distance at Jail speeds if you aren't careful.
I also selected some badly cut up country roads and was impressed at how it coped even deliberately aiming for the worst bits.
Handling at high and low speeds is also fine.
I tested the previous GS a year or two back and didn't go for it since it seemed a bit, what can I say, agricultural (sorry). This to me is a different bike altogether and I can hardly wait now for mine to be delivered.
My advice to anyone wavering about going for a test ride is do it. Don't just belt up the bypass, any bike will do that, select a route which would show you it's latest technology. I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

Did anyone teat the Skyhook Ducati back to back for a comparison.
Thats what i hope to do in Dublin later in the month

Yes, I did just that.
I sold my 2010 Multi 1200S (Ohlins) last Oct after doing 24000 miles on it.
I found the Skyhook harsh. The reworked engine is very smooth, even a very low revs. The new screen is still not very good ( no buffeting but a lot of wind noise).
The LCGS ride was more supple but well controlled. The engine felt almost as fast ! The screen was quite good. I much preferred it ( & I'm a Ducati fan). I also think the new GS looks better. The Multi Touring with no carbon & ugly grey forks looks very dull now.
But, I would say the Multi feels more planted, the GS feels light at times.
The suspension on both bikes works well reacting to pot holes etc.
I actually road both bikes back to back twice.

Thanks, i liked the GT Multi, its in grey but they are going to do it in red.
I understand that the new active suspension and proper traction control on both bikes is a real step forward in bike safety.

Just heard that my GS has gone from 19th March to 26th March. Not too bothered with the delay with this bad weather.

Just heard today that delivery/collection is confirmed as next Tuesday 26th March at Ocean.
I've also added the Varios since I'm busy booking tours, Corsica with MSL is top of the list and also the BMW motorrad days at Garmisch etc etc.
Hope the 'Beta tester' leg pulls don't throw a spanner in my plans.
