Perhaps those in contact with the movers and shakers should flag this where it's needed.

Blowjobs

Guys

I am so disappointed that only 7 members of this community have gotten off their arses to even send a copy of a ready-prepared letter to their MP about this closure of our rights of way (respect to the 4 guys who at least posted to say they couldn't be arsed!).

I'm sad that polls on this site about "beards" or "how do you wipe your arse" elicit more of a response than that given to such an issue which affects our common interest - GS riding.

I would have thought that the free opportunity for you guys to make mischief with your local MP would have been irresistable!

I'm just a weekend warrior with regard to using my bike but at least I have written to my MP.

Please do take a look at Greg's link which shows the proposed motion, and fill up your MPs' mailbox and letterbox with letters of protest.

(S'pose I really should have posted this in the "Rant" forum?)

Cheers,

Neil.

And I'm disappointed that you assume only 7 people have done it. Maybe it's just possible that many people (myself included, having posted 6 copies so far) have posted the letters, but have got better things to do than waste time posting a reply just to say "I've done it! Aren't I the :GS:GS:GS:GSin' hero!" .

Gentlemen,

I have it on good authority from someone in the know, that if you send in a standard/ready-prepared letter, they invariably end up in the bin. The rationale being how do they know one person hasn't done them all and signed different names & addresses?

Changing the wording of at least the first sentence, so it doesn't look like a ready prepared letter can help stop this.

I've sent a slightly different version of the letter for this very reason and have also signed the electronic petition that Roy/Greg posted, which may have more clout.

I'm told there is a planned ride to Westmister to protest about this - now that's something that'll get people noticing - you can't fake thousands of bikes can you?

"I've done it! Aren't I the in' hero!" .

Thank you Neil, but like Steve ! to have sent one off as well as signing one at Slough Heine Gericke, without feeling the need to say 'Look teacher - look what I have done!'
:shoot:

Thanks guys.

The intention of my post was simply to encourage those who had not done anything yet i.e. the apparent large majority.

If you have already sprung in to action but have put an 'X' in the box for "No publicity" - well done! Job done!

Cheers,

Neil.

Hello Greg

I am going to ride on Sunday the 28th of Feb either in Surrey (you can put your DRZ 400 in my van) or locally from the Silver Ball (A10).

Let me know if you are free and I'll leave a slot for you.

Most of the bikes going will be XR400's and KTM 450's both with experienced riders and others learning the ropes. We ride all day but stop at a pub for lunch.

If a group are prepared to fit off-road tyres to their GSs', I am willing to lead a BMW run for your members when it dries out a bit.

Best wishes

Dave

Do you mean this ride in Surrey?

I'll bell you tomorrow.

I'm sad that you are under the illusion that riding green lanes is a common interest amongst the GS community. Assume nothing.:)
