I'm relatively new to the area and need to get an OS map marked up. Particularly interested in lanes around Leominster and Hereford as I live between the two. Anyone know the area of even interested in showing me a few? (Or further afield I guess) I've got a Landrover 90 too so will I guess join the local Herefordshire club in due course.

It seems to be a question that is often asked but rarely answered. I'm not entirely sure why. Part of it may be due to protecting the identity/location of lanes and partly the difficulty of gaining the information in the first place and then being asked for it, gratis.

There are various 4x4 clubs and the TRF that will be able to help. Alternatively you can go and look at your local councils 'definitive map'.

For Herefordshire the place to start may be here.

Worcestershire's map is availabe online here, although I know there are very few 'green lanes' available to use.

Shropshire's map here. Quite a few BOATS marked just north of Knighton

I'll happily divulge ones local (ish) to me, which isn't a fat lot!

Just north of Clows Top here.

Just North of Alveley here.

Hope that gives you a starting point. Perhaps we need a Green Lanes section available/viewable only to subscribers? Just a thought.

Dan

PS. If you do find any good ones then by all means let me know!

Cheers thats good advice. Yes I'd decided that the way to go was to join the Herefordshire Landrover club ('ve got a 90 too) and that should give me the contacts for someone to mark up a map for me. If I find out anything I'll let you know. Was in Derbyshire before and there was loads of stuff there - although some did get closed after the most recent legislation.

Anyway it would be nice to get the TCK80s a bit muddy.http://www.ukgser.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif

http://www.trailwise.org.uk/gmaps/gmap.htm browse the map, pan/zoom to the area you want then click the search button on the right.....

I've looked at this again as well. Using a combination of the counties definitive maps, the trailwise maps and Memory Map, I've started to mark up 1:25k maps with the local routes that may be suitable. PM me an email address and I'll send you what I've found so far.

Dan, I'd be interested in that if possible.

Just got an 800GS to play with.

Thanks

Thanks everybody for all of the links and advice, all i need now is some maps, a few visits to some of the local rights of way offices and some enjoyable days out on the bike finding the trails:thumb2
