Some legal lanes in South Oxfordshire, plenty in Wiltshire.
If you're in to trailriding then you need to take note and act upon the information below i.e. write to your MP. It's important that you write as a concerned member of the public rather than as a member of any groups in case all letters that mention groups of any kind are lumped together and counted as one objection rather than individually.
Posted mine today, happy to forward it to anyone else to use for ideas.
Deregulation Bill.
What you can do to save your hobby.
The Deregulation Bill is in the committee stages at the Houses of Parliament. This Bill has been proposed by the Government as part of its campaign to reduce the amount of “Red Tape” especially with regards to local government. The TRF supports this bill as it has been drafted and without amendment.
In the end your Local MP will be asked to vote on this Bill and they need to know what their constituents think about it. If you do not tell them what you think you can be sure others will have suggested accepting amendments. This is how we lost out after NERC and we do not want it to happen again.
The Directors of the TRF would ask that all members take the time to find out who their respective Member of Parliament is and write them a nice letter saying you support what the Government is doing with De Regulation as you think it is a good idea and a worthwhile Bill. On the other hand though you are a bit concerned that there might be organisations lobbying to have the Bill amended in such a way as to jeopardize your Right of Way on some “unsealed” Public Highways. And if such an amendment was to be suggested would they kindly let you know.
Please do not leave this for someone else to do
