I was out at the weekend well Sunday, on me bike, on a few lanes etc.
I was invited by a member of GLASS and the new "Local Bobby on the lanes"
Philip Maycock = Philip is in my opinion a top bloke, fair to all he meets.
On the lane we all observed (I went to see and show willing to help in being nice to walkers as a biker and all that stuff). Apart from it being bitterly cold and nearly dumping me bike 4 times before I got to the meeting point. We met aproximately 10 walkers 2 bikers from Buxton area and remarkably at least 15 mountain bikers. Altogether a nice 3 hrs waiting about but interestingly most of the MTB lads smiled some said hello etc. Both the Off Tarmac riders stopped for a natter ( Philip advised them that one of the number plates was a bit suspect

) and they rode on down the icey lane. Of the walkers, some did nod but only 1 guy stopped for a natter and offered the opinion that he had no issue with anyone using the lanes as long as they respected the other users.

I did learn quite a bit of the way it seems to be going from Chris & Dave from GLASS they too are top blokes

As mentioned in the post Chapelgate ETRO is to be removed now but I dont think it is opened up yet by the DCC. I think most folks who know the Peak area know that some folk are pressurising for all closures of all lanes. Could you all be aware that we should not give the protest ammo by teararsing about especially off the trails - if yer see folk doing it tell the buggers. The police are stopping more and more so make sure yer good lads and lasses and yer bikes are T&T and legal. As another idea does anyone make rubber or unbreakable, and safe, numberplates fit for the trail. On the famous Black Harry Lane there was a group of volunteers ( TRF and 4 X 4 peeps) repairing the lanes surface where the recent water, and maybe walkers, and maybe vehicles had been. There was about 20 of them from all around doing their bit = they were top folk tooo

. Bet they didnt get much of a mention on the tele
