Green laning

Hi guys just bought a TT600 to do some laning in surrey/ Kent area anyone else do a bit ?
I have done some trials in the past and some laning before but I am s**t slow
anyone up for a bimble in the mud
I am also fairly slow but happy to point you in the right direction. Live in the Banstead area and spend most of my time green laning out towards Shere.

Greg thanks for the invite but went out for a quick spin this afternoon
I'll give that a miss thanks went to my nearest lane to have a try out
the lanes that are well used are like an ice rink.
also I'll be frozen to the bone travelling an hour round the M25

I work in Horsham so I can bring the Katoom on the trailer if you want to explore. I know most of the lanes around Hampshire if you fancy venturing westwards!
I'm up for some easy lanes. They would need to be fairly tame though, my 990Adv gets very heavy if you need to keep picking it up!
That would be good just did a day laning in the grand from basingstoke to newbury and back down to sailbury plain
So many lanes so close together
Looks like we are getting a surrey greenlane wobblers section
We'll sort something out in the new year and progress up to Hampshire lanes when the old legs are a bit fitter

Green Laning...
....how do guys, I'm keen to get into green laning, i've got off-road tyres on my 1150gsa and decent suspension and am keen as mustard, haven't done much off-roading though but have done lots of mountain-biking and a bit when i used to have a 650 Dakar. i am also in Tadworth

I'm going to potter round some Surrey lanes tomorrow on my road-tyred dominator. if anybody fancies a beginner level bimble I would be happy to meet at Box Hill before or after lunch for a gentle slither. If interested post here and/or pm me for a mobile number.

I had a lovely day on the lanes yesterday. I had not realised that the Drove Road was fully open again. Starting from the north end I thought I would be struggling with the steep descent at the A25 end - but it has been graded and was a very easy ride. I know the hard core riders hate grading but as a slow wobbler I quite like it. Water Lane up to Newlands Corner was dry enough for an uneventful ascent. I picked up a puncture on Fullers Farm Road and had to limp to a petrol station to over-inflate for the trip home. Had a pleasant time chatting with a 950 Adv rider. Saw a few GSs but they were all road-only types.
Anybody want to come along for the next ramble?

When you say the drove road do you mean Wolvens lane from the A25 up to ranmoore this has had a TRO for ages

As you say - has been TRO'd for long time but now open to motors with less than 4 wheels. As in the comment found in the above link the ascent is now easy due to gravel and good drainage.
BTW - can often do Tues & Wed afternoons.

I think that one he means is Beggars Lane. Goes up from just outside of Abinger Hammer. Is closed to 4x4s but open to bikes as it has a width restriction in place.
Wolvens Lane is the one that runs from Wotton down to Coldharbour?

I think that the names can be confusing.
n c pierce is referring to the one I meant. I agree that Wolvens Lane is the long run over to Coldharbour.

...i plucked up the courage on Saturday to go green laning for the first time on my 1150GSA
i started from Bocketts Farm and headed south on Admirals Road, doubled back to the start of Chalkpit Lane which links up with Hogden Lane which ends up crossing Ranmore Common Road, and then it got dark so headed home......i was hoping to do the last bit down to Gomshall via the trail called "Drove Road" that you have been discussing on this thread...would i be right in thinking that one is better tackled from the south end....?
