Are there any knowledgeable/experienced green laners in the Suffolk/Norfolk area who fancy leading a green lane day sometime soon. And if there were: Who would be interested in joining them?
I'll join the dots together if enough interest is shown ............. (PS Was thinking of using green lane bikes like my little DRZ rather than GS')

If you can get it together quickly then how about monday 2nd or tuesday 3rd

if not then weekend of 7/8th jan ?

only thing i would say is that there are a lot of trails and it can take a big chunck of the day to do so if you have time restraints then i need to work out timings and drop off points

Hornet, Sunday the 8th seems good. Will give people a little time to prepare and get over the Xmas and New Year celebrations.
Your meeting place also seems bang on - to me at least.
Given we don't want to ride in the dark (??), I'd suggest we look at a 10 to 10.30am start with a finish time around 3 to 3.30pm.
I'm sure you could advise whether we should bring sandwiches or whether we stop at a cafe for lunch?
Let me know if this is on and we'll confirm it for any other interested GSers.
PS I'll be on a DRZ to.

Hornet, can you put an e-mail address on your User CP or 'pm' me with some form of contact phone number so we can organise things. Cheers.

ok here's my first of many mistakes im sure, ive managed to posted up the wrong dates should have been 14/15 th NOT 7/8th as im an every other weekend dad/playmate and xmas has mixed things up

(actually jack daniels fault really)

email is [email protected]

Im an early bird who likes to get out in good time normally will meet up earlier but could aim for a 9.30am start the finish time is there or there abouts depending on progress made, off's, P breaks ,coffee stops. The normal thing i do is pack some fruit and snack bars in my camel back , but there is a cafe I use in brandon (its a greasy cafe that doesn't mind dirty bikers always been good grub though)

OK folks - looks like we're going to go green laning in Thetford Forest on Sunday the 15th January - who's up for it?

Can't do 15th as my weekend to be dad but keep posting rideouts as the GS needs a bit of mud! (can't afford two sets of wheels, actually too novice to use DRZ etc!!) Definitely keen to get back into the forest.

I`m a possibility for the 15th, due to be working, but will see if I can sort out a shift change.

And then there were three - or maybe four if Halfpint is coming!
More details of meet time next week when Hornet/Mike gives me route instructions.

out

will be out to play, have to see if some of the flatlanders are about. it been over a year since we went out.are you posting this in the off road section as well?

Thetford offroad ride

Hi Folks , A X-Country and KTM 400 owner here from sunny Barham near Ipswich i'm up for the run out to Thetford . I do know the area having lead the slow group for the BMW club at this years Banham rally on the x-country:blagblah

I've placed a link to it on the off road section.

Your experience maybe invaluable KGB biker.
It's increasingly looking like I'll be the most inexperienced 'green laner': Be gentle guys, I'm old and frail .............

excellent stuff looks like a good size group

meeting place and time as posted before
Group size no more than 8 please unless we have another leader who can follow my route.

The general plan is after meeting and full of fuel and coffee ,we will take in some lesser used lanes near to the meeting place having to cross the A11 a couple of times then from near worlington head over to herringswell then tuddenham and over the temple bridge where a quick push is required then into the more well trodden trails of the ickneild way over to euston then up to the hereward way depending on time there are a bunch of nice trails over at stanton which could get a look in

From the hereward way the route would continue over to brandon and weeting where again there are plenty of trails to play on

the final sections heads back down to icklingham via the barnham slip and the well known gate section

Time is the main factor as to the route which can be changed and adjusted to suit. As ive said previously ive got a good knowledge of the area and terrain.

Should we see a lot more rain its deffinatly not going to be fun on anything less than good knobblies however its dry for the time of year
