I would prefer to get cover in the UK to save time mucking about in Nador, however my broker has said that insurance co's are making it difficult to get green card on their policy - as they don't like Morocco. Has anyone found an insurer that offers greencard cover on it's own, as I would prefer to stay with my excellent small independent (and cheap) broker.

This topic has been discussed at length within this section of the forum but Carole Nash will do it depending on which insurer they use. If you're told no by a broker, insist a bit harder sooner or later one of them will give you a green card:thumb

+1 on Carole Nash. Got Carole Nash with extended green card coverage. And it cost me less than the bmw (read Bennets) policy I cancelled. Make sure you check the policy carefully. Mine didn't have Morocco or Tunisia listed. They added it and sent an update within 24 hours.

Cheers

Carole nash is just the broker. You can be insured with carole nash and still be unable to get a green card for morocco.

I'm insured with grouprama (through carole nash), and grouprama do cover you for morocco.

Not any more. I have gone with Carole Nash, but Groupama are no longer covering Morocco. Another insurer will provide, but at extra cost.

My renewal docs came through last week. Already disappeared into the giant quivering heap of paperwork I use as a filing system. Now let me see....

... wondered where the cat had disappeared to. And the sneaky b*ggers have removed it - groupma. Will contact my broker toot sweet.

Kicked up a bit of a stink. Made the point that a lot of folks from the UKGSER site use Carole Nash specifically to get non-EU greencard cover. That no one had told me I was losing it when I renewed. The only alternatives at this stage seem to be Zenith (no thanks) or Aviva (won't insure me because I live in South East London). They are going to take it up with Groupama to see if they can persuade them to make some kind of "special exception".

Will keep you posted...

Suprise, surprise. They haven't got back to me. Anyone form Carole Nash reading this post care to comment?

hi...
my drveing licence and all papers from my car are in serbian language. do i need to translate that on french and to verifay that in maroccan embassy?
thanks..

Carole Nash - bunch of thieving b'stards

Just called up to "order" my greencard extension, as I was told when I took out the policy, and now they want the fee (£43 for 2 weeks), which I had previously accepted + an extra £30 for amending the policy. Needless to say I have told them where to get off.

Personally, having had very good cover from my small independant broker in the past for under half what CN charges - why the hell does everyone rave about this shoddy company?

Rant over. But not with Carole Nash - have escalated to their management . Twats.

I left bennets to go with CN a few years ago so i could get a green card now thay say no way no how. who do we go to next iam off to morocco on 25th so just have to buy it there happy rideing all cheers Dai.

Because of this thread I have today asked Carol Nash (Groupama) for a Green Card for Morocco covering the first three weeks in May. Its on it's way so no problem - Carol Nash even phoned me back straight away to check which bike I was going on to make sure that they issued the Green Card correctly.

When I went with Carol Nash in November it cost me more money than BMW Motorrad. I specifically stated to Carol Nash, when taking out the policy, that I wanted Groupama and was willing to pay more because of the Green Card issues with NIG (BMW Motorrad); who would not issue a Green card for Morocco unless on a World of BMW tour.

So what is going on with these unfortunates who have been refused. :nenau

It's not that CN are refusing green card cover per se, rather that Groupama who many of us are insured with through CN have withdrawn cover from non European countries. In my case the only alternative available through CN is Aviva and they won’t insure me because of my post code. I renewed in December - it may be that cover was only withdrawn post November.

I'm with Groupama too and requested cover today ...... doesn't seem to be a problem at the moment (for me). I can't understand why you have been refused - seems odd.

3rd party at the port the only way?

Have to agree with the above. Aviva (via Carol Nash) unable to quote me as I live in NW London and am unwilling to add another alarm to the bike (lives in a steel bike shed and has a BMW alarm fitted already)

It woukld appear a third party green card at the port is the only option unless someone out there knows of another way?

Seems very odd to me that BMW insurance will not come up with one as after all what is the first bike you might think of for a trip to Morocco. Yes, a GS.
