Ground Anchors

Obviously, the weak point here is the chain? :nenau

That chain is a nickel/cobalt chain,that I salvaged from a dry dock about 25 years ago.You ain't going to break that in a hurry,I can tell you:thumb2

The chain is indeed the weak point in most security issues,if you have some one serious, they'll take the lot,or just take the keys off you,but these will stop the 99% of chancers that nick bikes.

More finished this week by the way:thumb2

Mine (two) arrived on friday morning Vern. Just what I wanted and quick delivery.

Very pleased with them.:clap

Cheers Stuart.:thumb:thumb

The Weakest Point

I work for police and the weakest point these days seems the front door. As cars (and bikes) are getting harder to steal the thieves are either breaking into the house to nick the keys or just using a fishing rod through the letter box to "fish" them off the hall table.

If people are dumb enough to leave their car/bike keys in full view then they are asking for trouble :blast:blast

Ive noticed a severe weakness in your design . Sorry Vern. But thats wot we are here for ... to give constructive criticism. It might hurt, but you know its right.

When you are out on your bike, and your chain is not through the ground anchorage, a really sneaky thief armed with the correct socket, could easily steal the security bracket.

I suggest you spray the ends of the anchor with red paint, and the potential thief will believe it to be too hot to touch and will leave well alone.

Never thought of that one .... did you eh ? :augie
