Group buy Sump Guard for G650x

Oh yeeeessss

Yeh, received the sumpguard from Stephan today, and it is perfect!
The fit is really neat.
I am really pleased with the unit and recommend it as an alternative to the more expensive units that are on the market.
Thanks to all who had any input to organising the group purchase.....:thumb2

Thanks for keeping us informed. I'll look forward to receiving both next week. Shame as I'm off to get very muddy at the weekend, I hope it isn't tempting fate. A friend once broke a kneecap while he was waiting for the kneepads he had ordered to arrive

Mine turned up yesterday afternoon, very well made, think it's safe to say that Stephan is a perfectionist! :thumb2

Wonder if we can extend his line of things he makes, I've got a few ideas :D

for interest: a comparison against the tt sport sumpguard, and a pic of the oil drain hole. not sure how the ones without the drain hole fit as on mine the drain plug is close to flush with the bottom of the guard with only a slight recess. i found the supplied nuts a little soft and managed to round one of mine on install:augie. the fit of mine needed a little wiggling to get all lined up but other than that am impressed. it also weighs less than the tt sport sumpguard 2.2kgs compared with 2.4kgs:thumb2

Don't forget to use Loctite or similar threadlocker on the four screws, and don't over tighten them so the rubber washers spew out from behing the washers.

I am really pleased with mine, and it's had a good hit already...... thanks for the effort in the organising of this buy.

Now, what about these casesavers.......:augie

Yes please! :clap

Picked my sump guard and case saver up from Mark {did dob) on saturday, superb quality, dead easy fit, thanks Mark for organising and sorting out, turned out to be real quality kit, thanks also to stephan,
Put all new bling on last night and rode the trails in the Peak District today which was quite rocky and stoney, felt far more confident with proper engine protection:thumb

Thanks again Mark and Stephan

Great fit and quality. Turned into a long spannering session though as the 2 front bolts on the original bashplate seized in and rounded the holes. Welding something onto the front of the bolts so I could get some leverage resulted in snapped bolts. Nothing for it but to drill out and tap new threads at M8. Copper-slip liberally applied to the new bolts.

Add in the time fitting new steering head bearings and I spent most of the weekend in the shed.

bugger - missed out

I found this thread/forum just a few weeks too late. I contacted Stephan last week after sumbling across his website somewhere. I wil email him again and specify an oil drain hole
