OK I know that its only worth what I am prepared to pay...but what are the going rates. I have seen one that is a 97 import, ABS but not a lot else listed, lowish milage too.

around £3000
is a fair starting point, however this can change by a fair bit for the right one. i.e. add-ons, condition, history etc. Mileage is not really important, mines done 50k+ and rides superbly.
The important thing is has it been lovingly kept with regular servicing etc. A top notch one could fetch £3500 - £4000.

i thing it would have to be one hell of an 1100 to fetch £4000 you can get ADV's for less than £5000 now-days
Steptoe would likely know the "real" going prices not the ones in ads that don't sell
