GS 1200 54 plate speedo problem

Hi.

Was out on bikey yesterday (R 1200 GS 54 Plate 65000 miles) and intermittently the brake warning red triangle and logo were flashing and the speedo and mileometer did not work.Also the self cancelling indicators did not cancel.It is now doing these four things (brake warning lights flashing,speedo not working,mileometer not working,indicators not cancelling) all the time.

Any ideas as to what could be the problem?

sounds like an electrical problem

Needs to go on Diagnostics of some kind but I'd suspect the rear speed sensor is failing, or covered in some sort of gunge inside the Final Drive or the sensor wire is frayed thru somewhere

I have a 2011 GSA, all your problems except the indicators, under warrantee - turned out to be the rear wheel sensor. Riders Cardiff told me if it wasn't covered by the warrantee the cost would have been around £100. No idea though about the indicator problem.

as above,rear speed sensor failing,or metal swarf from worn final drive bearings,i have a spare sensor and gs911 diagnostics at my workshop at sedgebrook near grantham.mike 07786 340692
