I have just bought a hella fog off ebay which came with a load of aluminium bracket work, I am told it is original BMW but can't find any pics of said item though.

Two questions, does anyone know how the bracket fits, the top part is easy it is held on under the indicator stalk, but there is a bit that goes under the mud guard which I can't quite work out.

Second question, I planned to splice into the dipped circuit and wire an inline switch, anyone any expaerience of this? I dont wont to start blowing bulbs, or do I need to fit a relay?

Thanks

Simon

I wouldn't "splice into" the dipped circuit - It'll cause you eternal grief: I can't explain now because my head feels a bit fuzzy..

...but you need to wire it from the battery via a relay, with a switched feed from the sidelight circuit to the relay, so the fog can't be on unless the bike is.

An expert will be along shortly...

Thought pics might help identify said purchase. Is it wunderluch? Thanks for reply Mr K.
Anyone have an idea where i could get a matching right hand side one from and what they might cost new?

Looks like Wunderlich, but mine look like this:

I wired mine without damaging any wires, there is a threded hole to mount the relay behind the little plastic cover on the right just under the tank. Used a feed to the relay from the back of the headlight plug on the dip feed (yellow)by using a probe connection as the relay only needs milliamps to switch on there are no problems :D
