Sure same thing has been asked a thousand times before, but anyway :
Recommendation for tank bag wanted.
Needs to be fully waterproof and no hassle at fillups.
Touratech seems to have good one (expandable) some sixty quid cheaper than BMW.
All thoughts/experiences welcome.
Cheers,

Ive got a Famsa, good quality but can't use it as I have the Wunderlich bar risers on which bring the bars up and towards you.
This means the bars foul the bag when trying to get full lock.
The one I now use is the Wolfman enduro which is quite small but ideal for those things you need when riding along.I bought a map case from Touratech and used velcro to mount it to the top of the bag when needed.

Woooody

Got a Held tankbag few months ago . Tried it first time yesterday and it fits really well ,no movement, and 3 outside pockets for specs,cash.etc. Also the map pocket is quite big and easy to use as the zips open up all round. All for about £65. Couldnt see paying nearly 3 times as much for BMW bag when I shall only use it a few times a year, and I think Held is just as good

Boring answer I know but the BMW bag on a GSA fits well, is waterproof
and, unlike a couple of the other bags I tried, doesnt snag the bars at full lock. Thought that was worth th extra price.

I have a genuine BMW Tank Bag for sale, nearly new, water proof, and flips up out of the way when you want to fill up. £90 inc P+P

I use a SW Motech Clip on tank bag.

Pleased with it so far - quality ok & simple to use.

Some folks don't like the ring bolted around the fuel filler though.

Worth a look?

I've got a Baglux bag, had it on my 1150 before, but works well on the 1200, standard handlebars. Has a waterproof cover which keeps the water out but obscures the map pocket, less important for me now with the use of GPS.

No problems on filling in un-expanded mode, never used it expanded.

Hi,
How does it attach to the tank? Velcro??
Cheers,
Henry

there is a hook at the front which attaches to the frame and at the back there is a flap with a zip, the other 1/2 of the flap+zip uses dual lock to attach to the tank.

the tank bag has plenty of space and i use one all the time.

Hi,
So no velcro?

anyone had trouble fitting a map into the bmw tank bag?? if the map is folded so its about the size of A4 then the pocket is a bit too small........

fekin shite bmw once again... its not hard to design a map pocket is it......

I bought the Touratech "waterproof" one but sent it back as I wasn't impressed by the quality. It also caught the crossbar when turning.

The BMW one was actually cheaper and seems far better made although it hasn't got the nice "glove holder" elastic. Also I had to send my first one back as the map holder had a leak - just unlucky though I guess.

have he famsa one which is good but not waterproof and if you have to do tight turns it hits the horn button causing much amusement to the mates but not to me. plenty of room but would prefer one that could be more securely attached end easier to put back on at fill ups. very well made and easily carted about off bike.

Agreed - 100% water proof and fits like it should do.

Go for that one:thumb2

Lost about what I am supposed to purchase from SW Motech if I want the "powered" (electrical) version of their bag for a 08 1200GS...
Their website is so bad, I could not find my way there...
Thanks for your help...

I've been using Baglux tank bags on my last few bikes. Using the city bag I've used it on both a standard 1200 and an adventure. Top bit of kit, subject to daily use on some of my bikes, but you've got to like the tank bra look
