Hi, I'm 6,1 and would like to extend a bit more my legs and I'm considering getting a higher seat.
Can I solve this with the 1250 Adventure pilot seat (found a used one) or do I need to buy the BMW optional hight seat? (89/91).
i.e. do I achieve the same result with both seats? (adv and high std)

PS: I have a 2022 Rallye STD

The standard GSA rider seat is higher than the standard GS one but I don't know by how much.

I have a 'standard' seat on my GSA

I bought my R1250GSA Rallye new last year it came (not to order) with a low rallye seat, the bike itself is standard height not low chassis.
I found the seat to be hard, so wasnt impressed with it although i did like the look of it.

Im 6'4" and my knees were slightly bent with flat foot on the floor sitting on the bike. my old 2006 GSA was taller.

The issue with the Rallye seat is there is only the front part of the seat you can adjust the height.

i decided to get a R1200GSA WC rider and pillion seat which fits 1250GS/GSA off ebay got a great deal and a much more comfortable seat which can be adjusted higher. however not high enough.

I bought these lowering kits https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/313583162512?hash=item4903035490:g:HzwAAOSwOrNfIks~ off ebay and turned them upside down which raised the seat further to exactly the height i desired

Did you not find that those rubbers rotated back to thelower position. I was thinking of trying them but someone reported that they just rotate back once fitted. Suppose you could glue them ?

I have very long legs, height six foot five and have a lifetime of trying to get bikes to fit me. One thing I have found is that changing seat height affects stuff other than leg extension. Your back and arm and head position change which could lead to screen and bar mods. Lowering footrests will affect legs and nothing else. Worth considering.

Its only happened once in 6 months of using them, I've just checked and they are still the way up i want them raising the seat. :thumb
