Just about to replace the fork seals on my lads bike.
Is it 1 imp pint in each leg ? Seems a lot :nenau

Also would 7.5 or 10 wt be ok ?

Oh yeah forgot about the cocktail :blast

I'll stock up tmrw.

Think the bike was on the original seals , left leaking but fresh pink oil so its looks like a constant top up was done.
The right oil was grey sludge ...

Anyway all stripped and will clean everything up tmrw and order some bits from motorworks.

The biggest PITA was getting the badly corroded clips out that hold the seals down. I'll clean up the outer dust seals they should be fine to go again :thumb2

Cheers.

good luck matey, fresh built non leaking forks will be a joy

Everything is cleaned , seals are in the sliders so just waiting on the retaining clips from motor works ( tmrw all being well ) I'm filling with the cocktail Rob suggested using rock oil SVI 15 and 20 weight.
Keep reading conflicting quantities though, so I'm sticking with the old BMW recommendation of 1 imp pint per leg.
I think the bike was on the original seals ! The leg that wasn't leaking when I drained it was like grey sludge. Hope it makes a huge difference for my lad and stops the fork dive under braking. :D

Just tell me that you are not putting that weight of oil in there ????? Are the forks for a tractor?:D

It's the " Millichamp cocktail " apparently you spoon it in. :D

Edit ; I thought airheads were tractors anyway. :friday

Well after a few miles on my lads basic I can confirm the Millichamp cocktail has made a huge difference, firm but not overly harsh would be a fair assessment.
I'll try it on my PD I think. :D
