Does anyone have a clue what mint GS 80 Basic / Kalahari models are changing hands for these days ? :nenau

Not many in the market place that I can see ....

There hasn't been one for sale in the UK for ages AFAIK. I'd say 10K might be a little rich but certainly well over 6K. The best option would be a trip to Germany and ride one back. I had the luxury of riding an absolute minter Basic a fair few years ago - back to back with a G/S and and a standard 80GS and the Basic just felt so much nicer to ride. Great bikes:thumby:

In Oz paralever GS s are about half the price of a unmolested G/S, more so if the G/S is a PD.
But we actually ride the bikes as the were intended over here, so we don't have the same posers market for unrideable race replicas that you lot drool over.

I been looking for one for ages, eventually picked up a sub 12k miles bike from Germany. They are not cheap. Even on German eBay and mobile.de they are becoming rare (for a good original one) and expensive. I would allow €10k +. The conversion to a Kalahari will be plus £1300 ish, you need tank, paint, graphics, knee pads, fuel tap, etc.

I'm not sure if to sell or hold onto it.

Just wanted an idea of what's its worth.

I've looked at German prices and they seem high.

I'll give it some thought as I know if I sell I'll maybe never get another.

Got done other two wheeled stuff , but need to thin the madness out a bit, starting with my lads 650 Dakar we bought of some not to bad scouser. :D

Thanks or your thoughts all.:thumb2

if it goes you won't find another but on the other hand it will make some mad money, depends how much you ride it guess fella

How much for the wreck of a 650 Mister :beerjug:

Pm me if your interested Kenny, its got frames and metal mules now ( optional) think its on 15400 miles now, light use and a good euro trip under its belt. I had BMW Willams do the the shims and a new motad thingy yellow battery on it.
