GS-911

Another vote for Biketec.ie I got mine at a good price from them. A shame it won't run on the iPad/iPhone although I believe they are working on a hardware Bluetooth solution for IOS devices.

I tried an old Nokia with the Bluetooth and it worked okay, but I prefer to use a small Netbook computer over USB for an improved user interface compared to the phone version. The Netbook uses a solid state drive so is rugged and portable.

If I purchased the blutooth version can it still be used with the usb into a laptop ? Im unsure which to go for. It looks a great tool .

What cheap tablet would work with the GS-911. Does anybody know if it would work on a Kindle Fire, a Tesco Hudl or Samsung Galaxy tablet perhaps?

Not sure if it would work with any of the devices you have mentioned, but it will work with just about any cheap laptop or netbook running windows. You can buy these low end computers really cheaply. Even 2nd hand cheap laptops with a minimum of memory and processing power are sufficient as long as they have a USB port. I bought a cheap 2nd hand netbook and keep it in the workshop as a dedicated 911 pooter. :):)

Not sure exactly what you mean by "reset" but you can now program the RDC's with the GS911.

Can you change the tyre pressures from bar to psi, and if so how?

Also, I understand that the Bluetooth connection does not have full reset functionality - is that still the case?

I don't think you can change the readout between bar and psi. The RDC functionality allows you to assign them by serial number to the on board computer - helpfull if you have to buy new ones or a second set for spare wheels. I don't have bluetooth so can't really help with the other question but my understanding is the mobile app is more for fault code reading than doing all the other service/maintenance orientated stuff. I'm prepared to be wrong on that though.

I dont suppose anyone has one of these GS911 and lives near Glasgow and would be willing to reset my service light for a small fee ? or anywhere within a few hours drive ? :-)

Be aware that only limited functionality is available via an android device or phone.
To get all the facilities, you need to be communicating to the 911 via a pc.

The GS911 Wifi only has service functionality when connected with usb through a pc. I understand that there are plans to make all functions available eventually through a phone via the Cloud.

Although I have managed to learn a new tyre pressure sensor to my bike using the GS911 Wifi I have not had any success in learning two sets of wheels. Not a problem because I can learn the wheel sensor ID to the bike each time I change the wheels. I have now been able to change from bar to psi.

Service functions such as learning wheel pressure sensors and resetting service indicators have to be carried out with the GS911 connected to a laptop. Service functions only become available after inputting the vehicle vin number. The Enthusiast models come with the facility to download ten vin numbers.

The GS911 Wifi works great at the roadside with an iphone for reading live data and fault codes which can be done on any number of vehicles.

Can the GS-911 be used to change the clock to 24hr mode or is that still only a stealership option?

It would work but wouldn't be calibrated. You may be lucky or unlucky as to how accurate it would be.

What I should have added is that when I replaced my fuel strip with a new one, before calibration it just read what the old one had read which was half full. After calibration with the GS911 it changed to read empty which was correct as I had fully emptied the tank.

Mine currently reads nearly empty so I might try doing the job when the tanks is again nearly empty. I'm not bothered about extreme accuracy because that's only needed when it's close to running out and none of them can offer that.
