Hi,

Just returned from Wales back to the north east after a very wet 600 mile trek. Early on in the trip i noticed my left foot getting a bit soggy (drenched by the end of it),:mad:however my right foot remained fairly dry. Its almost as if the rain is directly forced onto the Left foot. As this is my first trip in heavy rain i wondered if any other riders had experienced this and is there any cover or protectors which basically redirect the water.

Cheers,

Richie

Likewise my left Goretex boot finally leaked on my 2400 mile round trip from the south coast to Scotland, my right foot remained totally dry.

I don't know if anyone makes 'wally flaps' for the 1200 models, but after this weeks torrential rain I'd be tempted to try a set.

My bike already has a Mudsling and a carbon hugger fitted, left foot still got wet whilst right foot remained dry.

Did about 500 miles in pouring rain last year in Austria on an 09 1200 GS... didn't notice any discrepancies

tried nippys wally flaps but had trouble with the flap getting blown back onto my foot when braking. Now got the wunderlich clear foot protectors. They are not cheap but keep me dry in the heaviest of wet weather. Can post some pics if reqd later.

Had a look on the site and the clear ones look like GS model only, however, they do have GS ADV ones....mega buks:eek:. prolem now is i,ve got a 3000 mile trip in Europe planned for end of June and if the weather is anything like last year i'll trade in the boots for flippers....

I,ve just got a hugger from Nippy so will stick that on and see if any difference as the back of my left leg and boot was covered in dirt, RH OK, so it must be from wheel as said earlier in thread. Ta very much.

The water comes from the back of the bike and soaks your left foot. I've fitted a Maier splashguard and the difference is huge as I found out yesterday:augie

Huggers are a waste of time IMHO :thumb

I have the 2010 GSA and not noticed any difference in boot wetness no matter how heavy the rain :nenau However it doesn't matter how wet they get they're gore-tex and so waterproof and I've had no leakage so far.
But even if I did I think I'd rather put up with a wet foot than stick those god awful wally flaps/splash guards on :augie
