GS Adv Fuel Tank

This is going to seem like a very odd request from a 33 ltr tank owner ... but, with a trip to the Indian sub-continent in the planning ...

Do any of you good people know if there's a larger fuel tank available for the GS Adv?

If a larger tank is a non-starter technically, any thoughts on my options for increasing the 33 litre capacity using an auxiliary fuel tank?

I suppose I could strap a jerry-can to the bike; it'd work I suppose, but I hope to find a more refine solution.

There are several larger ones.

As hugely expensive as they are large in capacity though.....I believe the Touratwat one is well over a grand and IIRC, it's 43 litres.

EDIT.......have you looked at your route?
I doubt there are many legs on that journey that you'll find you need more than the Adv tank will give you...just take a 2 litre plastic jerry on a pannier or a 5 litre small steel jerry and save yourself the grand for the trip

Fanum, thanks. Good advice re: route planning, I just think I'll like feel more relaxed with a big reserve just in case of a major diversion or other such faff.

A grand for the TT tank is taking the pish. You're right, Jerry Cans make more sense … trouble is, my next headache is where to stash 'em.

Jester - see details below re fitting. Think the seller posted in FSAW section a bit age re breaking his 1150 GSA

Remove rear seat and bolt flat plate onto aluminum carrier rack,
Tank bolts down to flat plate. (not compatible with pillion seat)
Aluminium strip in photo goes underneath flat plate to take up the curvature in the stock carrier rack.
Complete with backrest on front of tank. Flat plate sticks out behind the tank for a luggage rack and is drilled to take GIVI mounting plate.
Complete with aluminium filler cap and tappings for tank outlet and vent.

You'll need to fit a 10mm banjo on the tank outlet and run it via a shut-off valve to your main tank. I fitted a balance pipe to my main tank and tee'd into that. Alternatively fit a tapping to your main tank and connect the aux tank to that.
Banjo bolts are 3/8npt thread and are included. Banjos and bolts to fix it to your bike are not included.
