Hi

Can someone reccomend a cheap tank bag for r1200gs adventure.
I'm due away to germany next mon, can't afford BMW style items.........

something from oxford or held I was thinking ..........I could do with a model name so I can get ot ordered and posted before the off

Cheers

I bought one these and so far I'm pretty happy with it.

Nothing to compare it with so only my opinion FWIW :)

Magic..........The oxford is just the sort of thing I was thinking of, saw it on e-bay but wasn't convinced it would fit the GS Adventure's unusual tank shape

Gonna order it today. Dont think could bring myself to spend £160 on a bag.

Thanks

Thanks chaps

I ordered the Oxford for £30

The Held bag looks like a nice item, but needed cheap item as my trip this year tight on cash !

Lets hope it fits ok:beerjug:

Mikewan 48 this tank bag looks great but is easy to get on and off to fill up on gs1200:bow

I don't take it off completely when filling up, just undo one of the clips it uses to secure to the headstock / handlebars and push to the side.

I guess it adds at most, 30 seconds to each fill up , so for the money I'm happy. No-ones said that it looks out of place on the GS, it has kept everything inside dry and it hasn't scratched my tank.
Though, if I can find that non slip matting I shoved in a drawer many years ago I would put that between the bag and the tank as an extra precaution :blast

It was easy enough to fit, though the instructions are a bit naff. Take seat off, undo the 2 looped straps, feed through the useful bracket at the base of the tank and tighten in position (personal taste). Then loop the top strap around the headstock or in my case the handlebars. Takes 10 mins. I hope this is helps.
