GS anakee 3s very noisy what to replace them with ?

Hi guys,

Had my 64 plate GS for a couple of months and covered about 1500 miles on her.. since picking it up i noticed a lot of road noise from the front end a sort of howling at certain RPM\road surfaces. I've been advised its most likely the Anakee 3s bikes done 4800miles and since then have googled and read of a few people saying the same of these tyres. I've read good things about Metzeler Tourance Next and Michelin PR3 and 4s, Pirelli Scorp IIs, TKCs etc I use the bike mainly on the road some commuting and touring\fun mainly. I guess I'd be 90% road 10% light off road possibly

Any recommendations greatly appreciated

If it's any consolation, my front PR4 also makes a similar noise at some speeds.

As Pirelli Angel GTs don't fit my 2016 GSA Im now considering SCORPION™ TRAIL II. I have had PR3s on previous bikes, but I haven't heard anything about the Scorpions, yet.

As highlighted on this forum, you can get a pair of Bridgestone A40s with this £50 off voucher. Just had mine fitted front and rear for £126. Not tried them yet but as a 90/10 type tyre and reading online reviews, they look to be a bargain at those prices. Made in Japan as well !

Recommend the Bridgestone adventure. Just done 2500 miles thro France and Spain it terrible rain. They did well

Anakee 3s were very noisy on my GSA even with ear plugs.... and my missus says I'm half deaf.
Tourance Next and Trailsmarts are much quieter and work as well as Anakees.

I think the front end tyre noise is always going to be louder than "normal". I believe its the noise being funneled up by the radiators? Just fitted Dunlop Trail Attacks to mine yesterday and there is still lots of road noise from the front.

I changed from the noisy A3's to Dunlop Roadsmart 3's. They are quiet, grippy and for me, confidence giving after the A3's. Ride seems a little harder, too early to comment on longevity.

Have you riden in the rain with them yet? On my bike they are good in the dry but frightening in the wet!

have ridden with them in damp conditions and thought they were good. Not tried in heavy rain though but they do get a good write up/review

They're not frightening in the wet, but they're not confidence inspiring. They're great in the dry though and steer better than the puncture prone PR4's I've currently got fitted (two punctures in the space of 4 weeks/600 miles )

The number of times I have had the front step out I would say they are frightening lol.

I would agree they stick well in the dry though.
