Hi, new here. A friend is taking his GS and I'm in my Atom. We've booked the ferry Plymouth to Santandar for 29th October and back on the 28th November. We have nothing else booked other than the first night in Spain. We plan to spend a week in Spain mainly in the south and then head into Morocco. This site seems mad for Morocco. I see there is a trip planned for the same time we are out there.

I'm wanting to find out about great roads and routes in both Southern Spain and Morocco.

Also if anyone else is going at the same time do you want to exchange mobile phone numbers and we could hook up for part of the time. :beerjug:

Our blog is

I plan to take the Atom with the Moroccan flag on it will this be OK?

Do not think the normal bonnet will be acceptable! :augie

One thing I forgot to ask about is over night security when parking. I've seen in a video clip bikes driving into hotels!! Do you leave the bikes outside? How safe is it? I've got a cover for the car which I will use.

You will have so much fun in that Atom :thumb2

Haven't got my maps and route logs in front of me right now, but look up a road between Talouine and Tafraoute.....it's 80 odd miles of pure twisty tarmac with superb cambers- hardly any traffic and awesome views.

Stay at the Amandiers in Tafroaute, then head towards Agadir on the r105 throuogh Ait Baha.......another 80 odd miles of twisty that runs high along a valley wall.....sheer drop offs, minimal barriers and you can see miles along the road at some points so if you're good, you can commit to lots of blind overtakes

thinking about the talouine to tafrate road, i'm pretty sure that's the r106.

Also...definitely do the tizi n test and the Tizi n tichka........the road from tata to the coast is a lovely desert road and in a car like that, I'd want to do Ouazazarte to zagora as well (and go to mhamid if you want to see the arsehole of the world, last stop on the road before nothing for 1000 miles frontier town!)

dammit......I'd like to take that thing down some of the roads we do !!!!!

Gimme a call if you like and I'll sit there with some maps in front of me and we can go through some more bits. :thumb2

PS We'll be there in November as well.......the staff go out on the 8th oct and come back on the 9th december and the actual tour is 16th to 27th november, so keep your eyes open for us :)

Bill

PS you gotta do the daades as well....go all the way as far as you can rather than stopping at the cafe atthe top of the pic below and you'll find yourself driving round the top of some gorges that look like the grand canyon :thumb2

Thanks for the info Bill. I will get my friend to ring (Nigel) he's got the GS so you can talk shop there and he's doing the planning as I'm off to the USA for a 3 day long Atom event next week.

That is one cool website! A truly awesome way to publish a trip report.

I presume you mean my i-spog page. I know. It's just strange that not more UKGSERs visit my site. I have plenty of visitors from BE, Holland, Germany, Spain, Portugal, France etc... with plenty of positive comments. Here it is a bit less of a "hype"... :nenau

You guys probably want to stick to prehistoric html

I'd love to bone up on how to do some of the things you do on that page... did you write it all yourself? Which language?
