GS/GSA Tank convertion

Can anyone help I have purchased a GSA tank to fit my 54 GS its only when I came to fit it that I realised the filler hole in the Gs Tank is round and the filler hole in the GSA tank is smaller ans pear shaped is this GSA tank a later model?

The tank was changed from 2008 onwards so it sounds a possibility your tank is from a later model.

Have you looked on the Max BMW parts fiche? That might be of assistance to you.

I think the front subframe might have changed at that time as well, but I am not 100% on that but you should be able to use the fiche to compare part numbers for the 2004-7 models with the 2008 on models.
