GS High seats

So, I'm about to get a high seat for my 2007 GS

The parts catalog shows now two high seats for the GS :

52 53 768 11 39 High black front seat (870mm/890mm) - pre 2008

52 53 770 80 10 High black front seat (880mm/900mm) - 2008

So, does anyone knows if these new seats fits older bikes ?
On top of being a bit higher (which I would prefer) than the older model, has anyone tested and noticed any other difference ?

Hmm wonder what they changed - especially as I bought a spare standard seat from eBay for my '08 and didn't think there might be a difference - it does fit so either I got an '08 seat or the pre '08 seats do fit the '08.

One thing to bear in mind is that the standard '08 seat is also quoted at different heights from the pre 08' models - so did the seat change that much or did they change the default suspension setup that I guess they measure against.

I've got a Standard seat from my '07 1200gsa. Less than 1000 miles under my butt, no marks or tears .. make me an offer!!

Far as I know all model year 1200 GS seats are interchangable.

Had the seat on my 06 1200GSA modified i.e. made taller and still using it on my 08 1200GSA with no problem.
