Has anyone seen or found a decent sat-nav sunshade that will fit on or over the satnav when it's mounted on the standard fitment GS-LC lockable mounting bracket, maybe a velcro type of fitment or whatever?

Good point - if I put my hi viz on then the reflection is so bright I can't read the screen.

Gives you an interesting choice - be seen or be lost

Hi Pol, please let us know if and how well it fits the nav5 when it is in the mount, I see it says that it fits with a rubber band, which is fine if the rubber band is uv stabilised but my experience of rubber bands is that they have a short use life especially when exposed to uv (daylight/sunshine). Looks okay though!

Nylon Ty-wraps have a short life if exposed to sunlight too :) - I got told off for saying this a couple of years ago by the 'know-it all' tossers on this site - one should always use UV stabilised plastics and rubber things on motorcycles, many people don't realise just how much effect UV has on plastics.

Going to make my own from plastic card, a scribe and some poly cement. Cost? About 50p

Will do, it's coming from the states so it'll probably be a couple of weeks.

We get a lot of UV in southern Spain so I was going to wire it on, I'll report back.

eek! I need it for next week's Austria trip, Beemer Bob you had better make x2

Looks like it's back to the Blue Peter method and the sticky backed 'black' plastic!

I tried that, worked quite well but never really managed a good way to attach it.
The glare stomper fits and stays put at any speed. Shades really well too.

Glare stompers are brilliant. Well worth the money and they do what they say on the tin:thumb2

Bilco, will they fit ok along with the GS-LC locking mount?

+1 for the Glarestomper. I have one on my 2014 RT and it fits well with the (non locking) mount. You attach the velcro strips to the sat nav and than velcro the Glarestomper to the strips. On the RT it fits right in to the mount if you make sure to attach the velcro strips in the right places. Hope this helps.

One knocked up from 20 thou plastic card and some modellers putty.
I will cover it in black vinyl to reduce the glare even more. It can be folded flat for storage and cost me pennies.
