GS-LC Sat-Nav sunshade

Made one out of an old shoe box. cut it to shape covered it in black gaffer tape attached with velcro. Used it for about 4yrs works perfectly.

I used to have a tomtom 720 on my previous bike which needed a shade , so I made a few from some thick black card and then put them in a laminating machine which made them stiff and weatherproof.

Cost nothing as I already had the materials.

I used an old plastic 2l milk container, cut it to size, covered it in Gaffer tape and used a thin strip of velcro to hold it on, works quite well and is cheap. Looks a bit Blue Peter mind!

Sunshade for the Nav 5 arrived today, I've secured it with garden wire as a rubber band wouldn't last long in the sun that we get here in Spain.

The fit and finish are very good.

So far it seems to do a good job, I'll probably be doing a couple of hundred Km's tomorrow so I'll update after that.

I have done several hundred Km's with the shade fitted now and I am impressed with the improvement in being able to see the screen more easily in sunny conditions.

I've ordered a 80mm x 2mm silicone O ring to secure it to make it easier to remove than the wire that I originally secured it with.

Looks nice but not cheap once you add shipping:blast

Unfortunately no. Ordered one and then had to return. A .5mm plastic card off ebay and cut to size with a pair of scissors at home work the best.

Glare Stomper fitted to mine with GS-LC Locking Mount, I just cut and attached the Velcro to the Nav Bracket & the Nav Unit as two pieces. Earlier Post in this thread has the correct Part Number. :thumb2 Yes my screen needs a clean!

Many thanks for the update, I did go for the glarestomper as I didn't have time to wait for a USA delivery before my Austria trip, however that one looks really neat so I'll get one.

Does it fit okay with the locking mount?...looks to!

Is that the 55mm version and last but not least where have you ordered your o-ring from?

Thanks again.

Fits perfectly with the mount on my 2015 GSA and yes it is the 55mm version, I ordered the O Ring off of eBay.

Is it me ?----just returned from a trip to spain---no issues at all with reading sat nav with no shade fitted.
