Wanted to make a point of sharing this one. You know when you come across a good business run by good people you want to share it, to help them? That's all this is, I have no connection to the firm at all but they offer brilliant service and they're proper bike folk. :thumb2
Basically they're mobile tyre fitters - but now also have a servicing workshop at their base in Wokingham.
Husband and Wife team Gary and Dee (plus Boxer dog Twiggy). Brilliant, honest service, top advice, and the real care and detail to attention you'd expect from a bloke who started as an engineering apprentice.
Basically they say the business has been barely ticking over through the recession but seems to be just picking up now. Neither of them would want to do anything else though, they say, even if it cost them money.
To give you an idea, the van is full of pictures of Dee with the likes of John McGuinness, James Whitham and so on, and has a sign underneath which says "Have Your Picture Taken With Dee - 50p"
There's also an image of Gary coming within 20mm of getting his knee down at the Nurnburgring on a 1200GS. In a Twat Suit.
They run group track days in Spain and now service bikes at their base (had to sell the GS to finance this). Their son runs that, but they also have a number of main dealer mechanics they know who do...ahem...evening work for them (including a BMW one). :augie
Anyway, there you go. I can't recommend them enough if you need rubber. Link to the website: http://www.gsmotorcycletyres.co.uk/

Link bookmarked. I've been looking for someone since the mobile fitter I used to use stopped. Thanks for the heads up.

Seconded.

I've had all of my bike tyres from Gary for a few years now.

Gary has travelled to my home in Kingston to fit tyres to my bikes for the past four years and each time the service has been faultless. Strongly recommended.

I tried them a couple of times on the past and found them really expensive, even compared to Bahnstormer supplying and fitting tyres during a service.

They came to me to fit my TKCs and that cost £10 more than NOG would have charged to do it at their place. Even then they were going to take off the VAT coz "it seemed expensive and the dog did crap in your garden". I declined.

I got this quote from NOG a while back:
Cost to replace front and rear incl fitting will be £290.95 incl VAT.
That was for TKC-80s...

I've just bought a set of Heidenaus for £134 per pair. Granted I fit them myself and use up my own knuckle skin... but there's a significant difference there, even if I'd take the loose wheels to be fitted at £15/wheel.

I'm all for supporting the little man out there, but I surely can't afford £300 per set of tyres. Even on my street bikes I've never paid more than £240 ride-in-ride-out (and that's high-end-brands such as Bridgestone and Metzeler).
