I have a Road Angel Plus for those moments when I am concentrating on other things (traffic in the city or the horizon when out of it) and my speed creeps into conflict with the law!

The bike mount is designed for attachment (via suction cups) to sports bike screens and is completely the wrong angle for a GS screen.

Does anyone have a good option for attachment by another method? I am a fan of the RAM mounting system and have my GPS connected this way but RAM do not make a dedicated cradle for the Road Angel Plus. Any ideas?

I have mine on a Migsel mount, and use a short RAM arm.

This is attached to a 1" diameter round mount with abll attached (I can't remember the RAM number, I'm afraid) which I have covered with heavy grip Velcro. In the round recess on the bottom of the Road Angel I have attached the other side of the Velcro.

Push the two together firmly and no amount of bike vibes will part them, yet it is still easy to pull off to take inside with me.

And 'cos I'm lazy, I took the power from the supply that feeds the 'side light' inside the main beam lamp. That way, it's not on with the ignition switched off.

Thanks for info. Is the velcrose on the recessed disc on the underside of the Road Angel the only point of contact? You say this is secure.. I have the Road Angel Plus and normally run it on battery - therefore no power cable and no failover way of preventing it falling!

I hadn't seen the Migsel mount before and it appears to be a smart way of extending the RAM system. What bike do you attach your Road Angel to?

It's an 1150GS.

My Road Angel needs to be 'plugged in'.

And yes, the only point of contact is the 1 - 1.5" circle of heavy duty Velcro.

The ordinary Road Angel doesn't weigh more than a few ounces.

It isn't waterproof, mind, so if it's bucketing down I take it off. But then, if it's bucketing down, I tend to ride slower anyway.

As for photos, I'll see if I can persuade one of the kids to take some with a phone. I don't use a mobile phone, and my Ixus 500 has, curiously, gone missing.

I've had the bike mount on the GS for eight months and it works ok.

Still thinking of getting one of the road angel plus (own battery) would it work if it was fitted to a handlebar cross bar?? by means of a mount??

The Road Angel Plus will work attached to the handlebar cross member. However positioning has advantages / drawbacks. It needs some view of the sky so that the GPS will work - OK on this one. An unobstructed view of the road ahead will allow the forward facing laser detector to work. The rear facing laser will be blocked by the rider.

Next is how you plan to be alerted to cameras etc, either by the display or by an audio alert. An audio alert will require headphones / earpiece to be plugged into the Road Angel Plus and then inside your helmet. If you will rely on the visual display you will need line of sight as much as possible.

Lastly, the device is not waterproof so using the windscreen to shield it from rain / spray may be a good idea.

I have sorted my mounting issues (earlier in this thread). I have a metal mount from the Road Angel people that I have slightly modified and then bolted onto a RAM 2.5 inch round plate. I plan to buy a Migsel mount and mount this above my instruments tucked under the screen. I am also thinking about an audio 2 into 1 to allow me to have both telephone and road Angel plugged into me via Sure noise blocker earphones.

I am also fed up with buffeting on my regular Portsmouth - London ride and am investigating Tobinators and a larger screen.

Projects aplenty! My wallet is twitching with nerves!

Hope this helps.

Thanks for that Beefy.. :thumb

I too have a migsel mount but i want to keep my 2610 on it.

I thought the handlebar bar was the next best place...

now i'm unsure

All info would be relaid to me via my INTARIDE RP1..

I have my GPSMAP 60Cx mounted on my left handle bar as it is easier to reach when I want to change what I am looking at or recalculate a route.

I thought the Migsel mount could support three RAM balls (so to speak)? Can't you mount Road Angel next to your GPS?

What is your INTARIDE RP1? Sounds interesting!

Ahhh! You are on an 1150 where the Migsel is mounted around the dial. The 1200 GS Migsel is different. Probably get a RAM splitter.
