I've been lurking around this site since July 2003 when I was off work having been knocked orf my Honda.

A good buddy, retroman, introduced me to the site. We'd been out riding together a few times and I did always like the capabilties of his GS and kept looking for a 2nd hand one.

Anyway....times went on and being short of funds I bought a gorgeous Balckbird off a workmate cus it was going cheap. It performed superbly and was so comfy:) ......above 80 mph that is:mad:

Then, just two weeks ago, as Deb & I passed by Rydales I said, come on, lets just have a look ....AGAIN!!! Popped in and Craig, who I knew from a Ducati dealership, provided me with some really tempting part-ex figures against a new GS12 and GSA. (Also, on show in the car part of the dealership, were two pre-reg Rocksters).

The next week saw us test riding the bikes with the GSA first. This was the bike I'd wanted at first but....nope...just didn't do it for me. I mean, the seat was comfy enough for two but the bike & I just didn't get on. Took out the GS12, much better, much MUCH better:P ...and the price with accessories was a few hundered quid cheaper than the GSA which suprised me.

.....................But it just wasn't quite there.

I was thinking to myself, 'maybe the Blackbird really is the best bike for me, with it's super smooth engine, excellent handling & good weather protection.

Then, we took out the Rockster. By now I was thinking, 'no, I don't want a boxer engine, servo brakes, strange suspension set up, etc'.

Set off and...Wow, this bike was MINE. The Rockster was everything I'd thought a GS would be. We had a good blast and arrived back with a grin that went all the way the round. Picked up a zero miles 04 slime green Rockster with ABS, heated grips, luggage & centre stand the following weekend and 5 days later in for it's free first service.

IT WAS ME; IT WAS ME....I'M that one person who took out a GS (or 2) and DIDN'T get on with it.

Sorry, chaps. I'm not knocking the GS at all, I just found a bike that suits me better. Hope you don't mind but I'll still be peering around in the shadows of this site.

Well you did get one part of a GS, the lights...the crap part:D

You'll have fun putting extra lights on a Rockster, as you're hanging around here, why not ask Migsel to make you a light bar?;)

Enjoy:beerjug:

If you're lucky enough to have found what floats your boat then enjoy!

I took a Rockster out for a long test ride before I bought my GS. The Rockster is great fun and I enjoyed it very much, but for me a GS was the better bet. Good on you though!

I understand that green Rocksters do go faster :D
