Can anyone recommend either of these suppliers and the y-piece? Is it well-made, a good fit, will I need the joint gaskets as well.

I can recommend BMWBoxerSupplies but not the "Y" pipe. It looks more like a T. I used the Keihan Y/T and thought it was not good.

Bought a BSM Y from bmwboxersupples. Email them to see if they still supply it. €249.
If not: bsm-exhausts

I was recently offered a new stainless one by Pipey of this parish, at a very reasonable price, give him a PM.

Are BSM still in business ? no answer from the website.

Apparently they have been having some problems. I asked Mat Beekers (bmwboxersupples), if they are still going. The reply is:
"BSM is struggling to get back in business and as soon as possible he will supply me with his parts again"

Sorry for the ignorance but what is a PM? Also does Pipey have a phone or email address as I need some stainless work for my GS 100. Thanks

You can also get a Y pipe from Cycleworks here in stainless. NZD450.

That Musket one at $A90 - looks the go - you could get it stripped and satin chromed and still be well in front, but as you cant clean or polish it when it is fitted I dont know why you would botherr.

Buying one might be a problem, however, as in my experience getting a Kiwi company to actually sell you something is next to impossible.

I have already been referred to the Oz agents, Mc Leods ,and they claim never to have sold any as Musket never send anything they order.

And Jap wreckers have never replied to anything I have sent them.

Jeez, is NZ a GS Airhead hotspot? Why isn't there a workshop in the West Midlands turning out the same bits I wonder?

Nice Cbox. I failed to register with trademe to contact the seller - no confirmation email. Maybe they detected my postal/IP address isn't down-under.

I emailed Musket and JapMC recently and received prompt, positive responses but I do think the black pipe would look a bit odd. It is quite visible. Now on an 1150 it wouldn't bother me at all.

Have you tried Gazelle ?
They manufacture one offs and will build them for you while you are there.

You are right, things seem to have chaned, my experience was when I first contacted them a few months ago , but as you say they sre now answering their emails promptly.

However, they have changed their pricing structure too, the collectors are now $US160- from Japwreckers and $193 from Musket.

Has anybody tried a pair of mono downpipes and collector box on the later gs's? Keihin make the stainless g/s collector at an affordable price. Looking at it there's no reason why it shouldn't fit it should just need the longer downpipes.
