Hello once again,

At the link below is a zip of all my 6th form GS presentations. I'm hoping/pleading that some GS'rs will find the kindness to have a look at each one and leave some feedback. This time they are compiled as exe's so will run without modification.

The 6th formers had about 3 month to do an individual and group presentation with the aim of "capturing the users attention" and supplying relevent material/facts on any of the BMW GS range. They only had a double lesson a week and hadn't touched Flash before, so please take that into consideration when ripping into them :thumb

The 6th formers will be reading this page so no bad language or defamatory comments! :dabone

Marking Guidelines

1. Does it interest / capture your attention?
2. Does it supply you with relevent information?
3. How would/could you improve it?
4. Any other thoughts you have.

Once again a BIG thank you to all that take part.

Adam's:nice collection of photo's but they flick through very quick.
Kirst'y: nice idea would be as it revolves it still say's BMW, a slogan would be good, may be a few phot's as it revolves it morphs into picture's of the GS, buttons very trick to use, good with the music.
Saifi's: Wow the best yet, can see the idea behind it, capture's what the GS means, one thing the heading selection is very small, but on the whole I like it.
Ellas: nice looped video, a little quick, aimed at a narrow band of enthusiasts
ie off road riders.
Team Presentaion: Nice photo of the Lady  and dog, but what has this to do with the GS? The area to activate the headings along the top are a litle small, under accesories it mentions off road tyres as though BMW make them (they don't), Under praticality it mentions tank size but not how far this would take you when full of fuel, I do like were you run the pointer over the bike it pops up specific information.
Hope my comments are not too picky, all the best for the future,
Regards
Noel

Thanks Noel. :) I've somehow managed to post in the wrong forum section, might need a Mod to fix :thumb

Very briefly (apologies for not using your marking criteria, this is purely based on first impressions).

Adam
Can't see any images?
Buttons tricky/intermitent to use.
Intro is good.

Emily
Please use pictures of a GS to start with...
Buttons not working.
Layout is nice and clear

Kirsty
Like the music + it works smoothly.
A bit 'dry' - needs some aspirational text?

Safi
Have you sold this to BMWs marketing dept yet?
Only needs the music to continue throughout the show.

Final
Sorry, not keen on this one. The pic of the lady is cropped too close - should reveal more of her flowing curves.

Good effort all round though and well done! You've all earned yer

I had problems with selecting text on all the flash presentations. This could be down to my rev of flash though.

The comments below are really quite minor niggles. It's quite obvious that they all have a good grasp of putting a flash presentation together and a lot of thought put into it.

Adam - Under Chassis/Brake section the text overlapping the images didn't work for me. would probably have been clearer having the text to the right. Clicking on "dimensions" triggered the start up screen again - a little confusing. Nice startup screen and selection of images though.

Emily - A pity the bike was wrong. As the target audience for your presentation it was a bit of a let down to see the wrong machine presented. I liked the simplicity of your layout and the selection of images though.

Kirsty - Apart from the text layout under the "chassis" section not working very well and the problem selecting sections (see comment at top) this was a nicely laid out presentation.

Saifi - Wow! That was good - How long did that take?

Ellas - It got a repetative with the images all coming in the same. The shaded font looked a bit dodgy. Apart from that I liked your choice of images. Was the flash intended for the intro to your poweerpoint presentation? I liked the crispness of that. It worked well on my big display. (I think the guys who posted before missed the powerpoint part of your presentation).

Team Presentation - Apart from an excercise in using the elements of Flash I didn't really get it.

Good stuff guys :thumb
