New on here, but would appreciate any advice on the best type of screen for my 1200 GS. The standard screen just seems to direct the air flow direct onto the top part of my helmet and can't get a suitable position to deflect the wind. Any ideas out there, thanks.

Welcome to the site.

Screens, like seats are a very personal thing, what works for some will not work for others, i.e height and riding position need to be taken into account.

What I would say is that the GSA screen c/w the Winglets seem to fit most peoples requirements. But at what cost..............

The search button at the top of your page is your friend. :thumb2

Screens

I'm still looking as well, but while there seem to be lots of solutions around at under £100, I'm not rushing to put hand in pocket, because for everyone who loves a particular solution, there seem to be two that it didn't work well for.

Why don't you head up the valley to Touratech and see if any of their bits (clip-on spoilers) suit you? If I lived as close to them as you do, I'd probably be up there every other week.

Welcome to a huge topic - screens :beerjug:

I've a wunderlich ergo - very big and almost gives no buffeting

and a tiny wunderlich bikini cockpit fairing, which gives lots of clean air around your helmet but protects the clocks - it would be easy to cut a standard screen down to the same dimensions, and you can pick up a used 1200gs screen for a tenner.

Did a tour to the alps summer 08 and went with the bikini fairing just because its better (IMHO)

I have just removed a gsa screen from my 06gs (used it for 6 months) and px it for a 08gsa, so I have a gsa screen and Winglets for sale, was just about to put them on e bay for £120. plus postage, in good condition, winglets still in box

Dammit

I can't PM you as you haven't subscribed... :nenau

Are you selling it with the cross strut included?

Maybe subscribe & ping me? Potentially save yourself some fleabay grief

what are you, 8ft tall?! cant say I've had any wind blast - been one of the revelations for me of the 1200gs, but then mine is adjusted to its most upright position

screens

hi guys im about 5"9 and found that givis high and wide screen with winglets is about as good as it get imo and a:beerjug: lot cheaper than adv gear

I put a GSA screen on my GS. It made a huge difference and the GSA bar gave me a place to put my GPS. :thumb2

:thumb2 +1 Although expensive, the GSA screen plus winglets gives a lot of protection which has been appreciated this winter. Fixing my Garmin Quest mount to the screen bar (and dispensing with the RAM mount on the handlebar) was an added bonus- it's much easier to read and neater. Incidentally, this was possible using radiator pipe wall mounting brackets from Wickes (which have just the right screw spacing). Very stable although the brass does clash a little with the Aluminium...
