So I've bought a small tank bag, but I'm not sure it sits on the tank right... number in the bag is 77 45 8 559 151 but I can't find that anywhere on-line?
Anyone know if its the correct bag for a K50 circa 2015?

thanks

The part number for the small tankbag differs slightly, last 3 digits are 153. And the large tankbag 154.
In what way doesn't is fit right?

yes.. your right.. but whats the number in the actual bag?... is a small so 153 sounds right... but is that the kit number?... are the mounts 152 and the bag 151?
plonk it on and it slides abouta bit.. I'd of thought it would be a snug fit and more or less find its own location??..

The so called 'large' tank bag is supposedly for the GSA and the 'small' tank bag is for the GS, but I've used both on a GSA and found they fit fine. The large one is a bit too large in my view (too tall) in an already tall tank.......so once loaded up a bit, it seemed to get in the way a bit, especially on up hill mountain passes where you are leaning forward a bit etc. The small one is the way to go in my opinion.

The large one also fits the GS, I have one on mine.

beaver, once strapped down it shouldn't slide - I had a Canon 5D and a selection of L lenses in mine and it was secure - trust me, if I had any doubt it wouldn't have been in there...

yes, it looks like that.. just wondering if they did different models for different years....
Don't want one too big, years ago I had a big one on my RS... you could lay on top of it... very comfy, but far too easy to nod off!! :hack

In BMW listing the GSA has it's own tank bag. You may probably interchange the bags between GS and GSA, but the top of the tank on the GSA is slightly different than the GS, and this is reflected by the shape of the bottom of the tank bag.

I got the GSA tank bag. I think it's a bit tall to my liking, but it's the only one that is waterproof. I find using rain cover annoying, so not much waterproof bags to choose from.

But while the BMW tank bag is water proof, the see through map window on the top is useless. In rain it gets extremely moist on the innside, to a point where a paper map will be ruined, and in sunny weather the top reflects the sun like a mirror. It annoys me to a point where I have been considering to cover the top of the bag with a black foil.

what's the grey thing for inside the bag, its like a huge foreskin  looks like it should be used if the bag extends, but it doesn't?.. has a couple of clips on it so will fix together? :)

It's part of the waterproofing.

The outer shell of the tank bag is not waterproof as such. It's well made, as is the zipper. But the real waterproofing is done by lining the bag with a watertight liner which is fastened on the inside of the tank bag, and the mentioned skin is the top of this liner. it acts like an internal and waterproof soft lid. You will find this design in several BMW tank bags.

Okay, so you just fould it in on itself.. I would have thought it might have a zip top, but maybe not required......

The LC GS has had small and large (expandable) tank bags since release and they haven’t changed. The GSA has a dedicated tank bag which technically fits the GS but not very well as the tank angle is different. The GS tank bag sides are a very dark grey, almost black, whereas the GSA has more light grey on the sides, if memory serves. The roll and twist and clip mechanism ensures waterproofing - a zip may well leak.

How about £55 posted to UK address. Bought it this time last year and only used it for 1 two week euro tour. I only really used it for keeping phone and visor cleaning kit in. Have handle bar bag for that now.

Assuming it comes with the straps and all the bits and bobs i'll have it for £55..

What's you email?

I'll paypal you over the £55 F&F and send my address?
