[Any body out there using a Givi EA118 Tank bag / Tanklock system for a GS1200 LC 2014. Have a GS small bag at the moment but not happy with the fitment how it sits on the tank / paint work.

I have the givi and a couple of tank bags, and use them on my GSA and Turban.

No problems here, they lock on securely and lift things well clear of the paint.

I use mine with an XS319 for day to day stuff and an XS307 for touring.

I use the Givi ST602 on a day to day basis and have also invested in the XS307 for longer trips. Both of them sit nicely on the GS, far enough from the paintwork to prevent any scuffing whilst still not sat too proud and high. Tanklock system is most excellent - 1 second job to fit/remove the tankbag from thebike. Highly recommend. :thumb2

I also use a Givi 602 and I’m very happy with it. Or I was until the zip stitching came away on one side rendering almost useless

I use the Givi 602 for short runs. It is excellent . A word of warning though . If you have Wunderlich Up & back Bar risers it does slightly foul on full lock !

I have an EA118 on my bike. You can see on the photo how well it sits away from the paintwork. Might be upgrading to a Tanklocked UT108. Let me know if you would be interested in mine. Used for one trip to France and a few local runs.

Might be useful having a look at the SW Motech Bags Connection range as well.

I used to have SW motech of moderate size on my GSA. Used to store my phone, glasses and other small items.
Even if BMW does not recomend items mounted to the tank ring, it did not seem like a problem in daily use.
I replaced it with a BMW tankbag since it was not waterproof and I got tired og the flimsy cover used for waterprotection. It's a shame that hardly any tank bag is waterproof as the provided covers usually are flimsy POS.
The SWmotch bag also was hooked up to 12V via the ring. Even if this was a handy solution I now use a battery Powerbank instead for phone charging. The powerbank is less bulky than the 12V outlet and only needs to be charged every 2 - 3 day. I don't miss the 12V...

Wouldn't look anywhere else. Best tank bags you can buy.

SW Motech on a tank ring, 15 months no probs.

(BTW Keyless ride needs a slightly different ring mount)

I've been using a Givi 3D603 for a few years now and quote like it. Very easy to take off but it solid when it's on the bike. Wish it was waterproof though

+1 for SW Motech gear, been on the bike since new. no problems, dead handy. You cannot use the larger versions due to the handlebars catching, so small ones only

Oh I dunno. I use a large one and just took the side pockets off and no issues. 😬👍🏻

Not sure all Tanklock bags have movable bases, but the Givi XS307 mentioned above (or the very similar Kappa RA308 I have) has a base that can be put into 4 positions. This is handy as 5 mins with a screwdriver can make it fit multiple bikes with different bar/tank arrangements.

Hi all, thanks for your info / thoughts on tank bags for the GS, at the moment the jury is still out, bike show in a couple of weeks so give me something to scout around for.

Mine didn't need a different ring. I used exactly the same ring on my Stelvio, Multistrada, RT and now Keyless GS. Had to change a couple of bolts (lengths) that's all.

Top bit of kit. Way easier than all that zipping and clipping and has never come off by accident in 10 years...

Hi guys,

Need guidance from you GIVI experts. I have a 1150gs (no adv) 2002, and I was hoping to fit the BF17 Ring. The product description says "GSA". As far as you know, does it fit on non-adv as well? Is there any actual difference between the tank ring of a GSA and of a GS?

The ultimate goal is to buy this set or something similar: https://www.ebay.ie/itm/System-Tank...5-Ring-BF17-/282768381962?hash=item41d64f180a

Thanks in advance for the help.

Marco
