GS Topbox and XR

Have you considered that if you already own a GS you might not be the target market for this bike?

They will sell loads of these bike to sports bike riders. The Ducati is equally ugly (apart from the Pikes Peak color scheme), and the GS isn't an oil painting!

i had a good look at this yesterday ….the middle section between the lights looks like the air scoops ,they seem high up . the light /reflector in the middle will get caked up in crap and sad flys. I'm sure the BMW design engineer new what he was doing though

whats wrong with Your pic ??..oh ..Uncle albert is photobombing on it !:D

I like the Bike …looks and fits great ..will have stinking power delivery ..i can't understand why thy have made it as close to the Mutlistrada as poss ..the red one at the NEC is almost identical

Maybe these pics I took in Milan might give a better impression :D

I have ordered an XR, I did not see the seat warmers in the options list but I will be sure to ring my dealer and add these to the order!

Take it from an S1000R (and GS) owner - that thing (the bike, you feelthy perverts ) will go like the clappers.

However, I just don't understand the tall forks, etc...

Why not just lower the pegs/raise the bars/increase the fairing on a S1000R?

Not as if you would take it off road....look at the tyres...

:duno

I know l, I'm quite disappointed by this... on the other hand Ducati Multistrada made strong impression on me. I'm thinking of paying them a visit to test their current mutley on Saturday...

I can't believe you numpties are looking at a pre production model, and deciding the bike is no good before seeing the real thing.:blast:P

Actually, I can!:D

I can't believe a huge company like BMW would go,to,the UK,s premier bike show with a part finished product!!!
FFS First impressions count and stick.

You never stop defending the brand

And some folk seemingly never stop moaning about the brand so its good to have a balance.

Its 7 months off production, good on them for getting the product to the show in time, a good sales move, lots of buyers in the market moving from jap sports bikes who wont wax lyrical on the grain on the plastics, which im sure will be fine come june 2015.

Yes I do. Any problems I've had with any of my bikes have been posted on this forum. I couldn't care less about what people think of BMW, but to berate the company for bringing a bike yet to go into production, to a few bike shows to gather some interest, is a bit daft.

As you are so anti bmw these days, when are you selling your bikes?

, but to berate the company for bringing a bike yet to go into production, to a few bike shows to gather some interest, is a bit daft.

It don't help tho, when the staff them employ at the stands tell you its a finished product, it surely would have been in everyone's interest if they had made it clear that the bike was pre-prod, like ducati have done. Because it doesn't do them any favours.

You are right Dave.:thumb The people on the stand are probably sales people, just wanting to get people to place orders, so don't want to say there will be too many changes, in case potential buyers decide to wait and see the finished article. In some cases this will have backfired.:blast:D

I remember seeing the new GS at the show in 2012, then getting mine in March 2013, and there were quite a few differences, once you got up close, as I took a load of close up photos at the show.
