Hello all
I test rode a new GS "tour" edition today. My last GS was a 2014 model, and the new gearbox is a BIG improvement. Much smoother shifting - it often doesn't CLUNK into 1st either.
However, I found the ergos of the bike a bit strange. It felt like I was sitting lower in the bike with the seat in the standard (low) position.
I was browsing the Aussie BMW motorrad site today, and they have a feature that allows you to click on the three different types of GS (not Adv). It effectively superimposes one bike over the other.
You can definitely see that the "tour" edition rider seat is scalloped out more - it looks to be at least 10-20mm lower than the standard seat.
Another reason that I'm getting the faster white one...
