Dear GS Gurus, after one and a half years on my F650GS I'm thinking about upgrading (or am I?). I have a 30mile round trip from home in Kingston-upon-Thames to the City so its the biking equivalent of hand to hand combat. The bike suits the conditions to the ace, can't complain. BUT, having purchased some panniers recently and attended the BMW off road school (going back in March), I've got the bug big time. Planning all sorts of long-distance trips, want to get into trail riding etc etc.
I've ridden the F1200GS and marvelled at the power, comfort etc but it just didn't do it for me (flak! incoming!). I've really been impressed by the site feedback re the 1150 especially the Adventure. I've yet to ride it but it looks like the ticket.
So what's the solution? 30mile daily flog, weekends on Salisbury Plains, Irish summers in Donegals.
