GS versus Honda Crosstourer

I tested one at Preston - very helpful - had To sign the insurance waiver buts that's normal to me - dealer said its full of fuel it's yours for the day, "I'm not goin to try n sell you it - if you like it you'll buy it!" had it all afternoon - topped it up for him just out of courtsey - told him if he could put the engine In my 1150 I would buy it! I didnt like the front end feel - he said not a problem thanks for trying it and tell your friends to come and try it! - so the experience was great fr me! Oh and they gave me some vouchers free too!

That's how it should be, the idea is for you to get a feel of the bike on a long test ride that's fully kitted to tempt you with extras and if you like the dealership it may clinch the deal.

The disclaimer is also to say that you will pay any speeding fines and dealers have an insurance excess to pay so why shouldn't we pick up the bill if it's our fault, and the cost of fuel will hit their profits.

I had to put a £1000 deposit down on a KTM that had to be back within the hour, the Honda Cross Tourer was in basic trim and again had to be back within the hour, Yamaha were great with no time limit and didn't want fuel, Triumph wouldn't let me take the Explorer out for 24 hours, (apparently to put off riders who aren't interested in buying it) but didn't want fuel.

I will stick with my GSA and wait to see what the WC is like

I had a test ride on the yamaha xt1200.
Was asked to sign 3rd pty cover with £1000 excess by the dealer.
Told him I would not sign without full cover and max excess of £250.
He changed it.
