gs wc spoked wheels

I'm assuming those wheels are anodised, but is there something like a lacquer on top of it?

I guess there's a lacquer on there - the cleaning agent that has eaten into the wheels has really buried itself into the metal; you can auto-sol 'till yer fingers are numb but it won't get rid of the milky stain in the rim.

Be careful cleaning your spoked wheels ... !!

Rest of the bike was fine - there were some tar spots on the wheel and I guess the cleaner thought that he'd spray on whatever they use and leave it to work for five minutes ...

Petrol on a rag for tar, kids today :)

:D Same with old decal and rim weight glue ...

I make a point of telling them NOT to clean the bike following service. If they don't rinse that crap off they spray all over it properly it can stain alloy handlebars, etc.

I like to clean my own

I must admit I like to clean my own, but I do run a part time Motorcycle valeting business and all the chemical I use to clean bikes is PH neutral its good stuff and you can even wash your hands with it.
