Ride from Annacy to Beaumont over the tops and then through small St Bernard's pass to Streso by the Italian Lake.

Saw this tinker on the pass and now he's parked up in a car park by Lake Maggori.

I like the idea of a tilting trike. No funny stuff on left hand bends (UK side sidecar) and no heavy steering.

Outfits are a bit of an anomaly these days. Different back in the pre Mini day when cars were something for the family doctor and priced accordingly. The rest of us bolted a double adult to the family Panther and learned the delights of steering an outfit through corners. Have to say, I have always fancied a go at one just for the challenge!

What if you are disabled or don't have the physical strength (maybe age or medical) for a bike but want to carry on riding a big bike?

Bike steering not designed to be used like a car can be really heavy to move. Outfits need a lot of strength to turn the damn things. You also have to be quick on the steering when the sidecar wheel lifts as it will do on a bend to the same side as the car.

Would love to tour on it. Just imagine how much camping gear, beer, icebox, BBQ, comfy chair etc you could carry...

A monowheel trailer (leans with the bike) will carry almost as much stuff and wont have the road width and handling issue of a side car.

My Kawasaki twin with squire sidecar loosened its back wheel spokes long before the car lifted on a LH bend and caused me to crash. I would never have another one.

Regularly see a r1200gsa tc version around the Newcastle area and seeing more each year in the Alps either based on the later hexhead GS/GSA and newer GSA WC models

Does any one remember the Sidewinder sidecars back in the 80's. It was basicaly a hinged wheel on the side of the bike used to allow people to ride
big CC bikes on learner licences.
There was a guy here that had a Z1300 on L plates, I always had the feeling he was pushing his luck a bit.
