Gs1100..backfiring, uneven tickover..??

Dear Tossers...perchance a wee help ?
I have a GS1100, 1997..and just come out of cold storage..new fuel pump, filter, and lots of fannying about with the tank etc etc....all is fairly well (even the fuel guage is working again!)..but tickover is rough, a bit of backfiring, and not as smooth/feels like less power on acceleration...sounds like fuel problem/injectors ?..

Check your cables and make sure they are all seated nicely in the housings at each end - a common problem after refitting a tank

checked everything, all apparently OK, ...then did 80 miles shakedown...all OK..running like a baby...
