I've read about the 'niggles' suffered by owners of the new 1200GS with interest.
When the 1100GS was introduced '94 ish,did it have the same difficulties?
I've had practically every engine capacity of the older airheads over the years, one one of the reasons for purchase was always the reliability factor.
My 1100GS is now 10 years old,(73+km), and the only problems have been those created by poor servicing standards previously, for example,a bevel box pivot bolt unscrewed because the wrong grade of Loctite had been used!
Made the handling interesting!
Other 1100 owners I've spoken to are quite positive about their machines,(obviously because it's the best GS)!
This design was more of a deviation from the airheads than the 1200 is from the 1150,so theoretically there should have been equal or greater numbers of 'niggles'.
Any info available?
