Has anyone had any experience with the Hyperpro rear lowering spring on their 1150 GS?
If i can't get this bike lowered i will have to sell it {very reluctantly} as i have lost confidence.
After the TT and Manx GP two up i feel I'm risking things as the bike is too tall. Even lifting off the side stand on any kind of slope is a two man job. Gutted. Would like the seat lowered too but can't find one.

What Buellzebub says is good advice, but you could also get in touch with Denz0 on the forum, here. He’ll tell you what can be done to shorten the existing shock/spring. I’d have no hesitation if that was what I needed to do, but I have standard Hyperpro shocks fitted to my 1150.

Thanks boys I'll look into both suggestions. Really want to keep the bike and even though it has moon miles and looks scruffy I'm happy to throw some money at it.

You could also consider changing the wheels from original spoked to R1150R alloys. That would lower the bike and give some tyre options. I did it with my previous 1150gs and am thinking of doing it again with my current 1150.

I don't know where in the North you are but it might be worth giving Clarence Bell in Greyabbey a ring. He trades as PLR Suspension and does a lot of work for the motocross and rally men. He rebuilt a standard Showa and fitted a Hyperpro spring for me many years ago when many said it wasn't possible.

Denz0 serviced then put a slightly shorter and heavier spring on my rear shock also supplied a new lower YSS front shock to my 2003 GSA. I can't beleive the difference it made, well worth getting in touch.

I had a Hyperpro spring on my 1150 before I swapped to Ohlins. It was rebuilt by some company down in Romford somewhere. Can’t remember who but they are a good well known company. It was a standard height one but had no problems whatsoever with it. If I hadn’t changed to Ohlins it would still be on the bike now. There are a few places that can put a lower spring on no problem. Someone has already mentioned DenzO on here. He does superb work. :thumb2 Send him a message. :thumb2

R1150GS and 29" inside leg here.
Short spring on rear Ohlins, Wonderlich low seat and adjustable torque arm.
Don't think the latter's available any more, but the torque arm from another bike (RS maybe? Search on here) will lower the rear by an inch or so.
I can flat-foot it with my big boots on.
