In my last post I mentioned I had the bike off the road for a couple of months and made the schoolboy error of wondering why it was running on one cylinder after replacing the battery only to discover that it was the throttle cable had come unseated duh!!

I put the cable back in and the bike started and ran perfectly until I took it up to 3.5 revs and it cut out on one side, its running perfectly below said revs.It would rev right out with the cable unseated!

Am I missing something obvious?

Thanks in advance,
Dave...........

You've not done something like balanced the throttle bodies when the cable was dislodged have you?

No mate I havent done a thing.

It was after I popped the cable back in place that it stopped revving past 3.5
Up until that point its running perfectly.

Im hoping that it might just be something simple that I have overlooked.

Dave.......

inteligent bike it's stopping you from thrashing it witch is dangerous :toungincheek

Try changing the stick coils over and see if the problem moves to the other cylinder. If not change the plugs over and see if the problem moves.

You could also change the fuel filter to see if its blocked and it could be a fuelling issue.

Got the problem sorted.

Thanks guys for all the help it is much appreciated.

Sorry guys I should have let you know what the problem was.

Unfortunately it was all my own doing.

I had cleaned all the electrical connections that I could get at to see if that cured the bad running but then I discovered it was the throttle cable wasnt properly seated so I went back through everything I had touched and I realised I had put one of the black boxes under the seat into the middle socket :blast

As for the lights on the dash behaving erratically I just took the bike out for a run and it cured itself!

Thanks again guys.
