Right then, new coil and connector fitted (tidy soldering I must say too!).
Still runs on one, left cylinder hot, right cylinder cool.
Swapped coils & plugs over.

Checked right side injector, removed and fired up, nice neat spray pattern.
So, I have sparks and fuel both sides.
no tickover on o/s but chimed in once you accelerated.
smelt of fuel and seemed to use more (I had to use it for about 200 miles like it)
BMW assist swapped everything over and ended up sending it to SBW.
was the idle control valve.
as it was warranty they fitted a whole new throttle body.
