GS1200 (06) Front Engine Cover

Still a bit new so please be patient if in the wrong spot.


Does anyone have a solution for the lacquer flaking off the bottom of the front engine casing. Bike is brill but finish on this bit is crap. Seems an existing prob. Any help/advice gratefully accepted

Hi alivfr750 had same problem when I bought my 05 (second replacement cover) shotblasted etch primer base silver 2K matt lacquer,twelve months on still perfect! can't get pictures up yet(new fangeld computers!)but if you PM me I can attach picture for you in an e-mail.

Had this bike since Feb and love it, but just a bit pissed off by the BMW attitude to warrenty. Still got my CBR1000RR which has seen as much crap and has not started fallin to bits. I will have to spend the Winter months doin some serious renovating !!!

Bike prob off for a few months as had a good run out at the weekend there. You have told me what I thought. Only other alternative I thought of was powder coating
