GS1300 noise

My 1300TE exhibits excessive noise from somewhere at the front. It almost masks the engine noise. I am hoping its bedding in related as its pretty damned annoying. It's road speed related not engine and like a nasty sounding turbine whoosh - I saw one video review where someone I think experienced the same thing. Once its rolling above 40 its there and gets worse. almost like the pads were rubbing against the discs (I don't believe they are). Does this ring a bell with any other owner. Making me disappointed with my purchase if I'm honest which for such a lot of money is a problem. (Gearbox is chronic too by the way).
Hi Andrew. Have you been able to identify the actual cause of the noise. I have the same problem and it is really annoying.

Hi Mark - Yes - a solution of sorts - A full refund .. they admitted there was a problem. (Didnt exactly give me a technical reason) Offered to replace entire powertrain and I said no. So got a full refund - no hassle to be fair - and I bought an R12 ... Not quite the same but a great bike. I was grateful for the responses on the thread - well most of them - but a lot of rubbish about tyres etc. This was a serious 'bacon slicer' noise on the road coasting from 35/40 onwards - very noticeable

Thanks for the response Andrew, I think that I may end up getting rid of the bike.

Hi Mark, if the description is the same as mine then bring the bike right back. My dealer was Wollaston BMW Northants who were very good. There was no fuss at all. In fact, they sold 'my bike' with its new powertrain fitted immediately
Again, if there is a bacon slicer noise (shwishhh shwissshhh shwishhh) road speed sensitive (not engine speed related) that's it. They know of the issue. Get your money back.
I will buy another one - but I'll wait until next year when the bugs are gone. Good luck - let me know if you want to talk and we can arrange something.

Next year's models (2025) are what you'll get now as new builds from the factory.
Don't quite understand the "drive train" issue?? Think you described the noise as coming from the front.
Haven't heard of drive shaft issues or bevel drive problems yet on 1300s. They did a recall on 1250s.
