Advice needed pleass on the best aftermarket handlebars for my 2010 GS 800. Thinking pro taper but open to suggestions? advice, thanks ...

Pro-taper Renthal Twinwalls or Fatbars. Check the diameter of the clamps on your bike to ensure you get the right bars. Renthal have a nice sizing chart.

There are many configurations, heights, angles etc. so work out if you want the same shaped bars of flatter, straighter etc.

Although a different bike, I changed the bars on my 1200GS and my current Super Tenere as all were too swept back resulting in strange wrist angles. I went for Renthal RC High bars for the Super Tenere which are the same height, but less swept back and a bit narrower.

You'll probably need some bar end fixings as the Renthal bars don't have threaded ends. You can use expanding Rawlplugs. I wrote up a post on it here and that post also links to the previous Twinwall fitting to a 1200GS post.

I was waiting to see some of the responses too - i managed to bend mine a bit during the snow and still haven't got round to replacing them. I was leaning towards Renthal for sheer availability...

Re bar end fitments - if you have barkbusters then the pack that's designed for 650/800's has some expanding bolts that are left unused if applied to BMW bars.

Thanks great help, found many threads on replacing other GS models but none for the GS 800 - when I sort mine will post pics.
